Appreciative Inquiry, based upon affirmation and appreciation, is both a philosophy and a methodology that explores what gives life to human systems when they are functioning at their highest level. Join PCMA for an engaging and informative evening, as Tenny Poole explores the concept and application of Appreciative Inquiry (AI), and how it effects positive transformation by building upon strengths, successes, values, hopes and dreams.
One way to understand Appreciative Inquiry is to consider the meaning of “appreciation” and “inquiry”, as they combine to produce a powerful, vital approach to leadership, change and future possibilities. By asking questions in a particular way and envisioning the future to capitalize on what is positive in people, situations, or organizations, AI focuses on what works vs. attempting to fix what does not work (i.e., a traditional problem solving approach).
Tenny Poole will also discuss the core beliefs inherent in an AI perspective. These beliefs include the following: a) people individually and collectively possess unique gifts, skills and contributions to bring to life, b) organizations are social systems with sources of unlimited relational capacity and c) the images we hold of the future are socially created and serve to guide individual and collective actions. Learn how Appreciative Inquiry effectively aligns core strengths to generate exceptional performance, enhance our capacity for collaboration and change, and create a wealth of future possibilities, for both individuals and organizations.
